 The 2023 Betway Summer Cup Terms and Conditions

By purchasing a ticket to The Betway Summer Cup, you confirm that you accept the terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) hereunder.

  1. TICKETING
    1. All tickets for the Betway Summer Cup will be sold through Ticketpro.
    2. All third-party ticket agents will sell tickets through and on behalf of Ticketpro only. No other ticketing company is associated with this event.
    3. Should you present a ticket that has not been supplied by Ticketpro, you will be denied access to the event
    4. The terms and conditions as provided and stipulated by Ticketpro apply for the Betway Summer Cup.
    5. Confirmation of your ticket will be completed on the date of receipt of full payment of the ticket price. There are only two methods of payment for online sales:
      1. Electronic Funds Transfer, and
      2. Credit Card payments 
  2. CANCELLATION POLICY

The cancellation terms and conditions provided and stipulated by Ticketpro apply for the Betway Summer Cup.

  1. REFUND POLICY
    1. The refund terms and conditions provided and stipulated by Ticketpro apply for the Betway Summer Cup.
    2. Abandonment of Racing:
      1. In the event that racing is abandoned, refunds on entrance tickets may be requested under the following circumstances: Should abandonment take place prior to the running of the first race, a full refund will be applicable 
      2. Should racing be abandoned prior to the running of the feature race, a 50% refund is applicable.
      3. Should racing be abandoned after the feature race is run, no refund is applicable.

    1. The materials appearing on The Betway Summer Cup’s website may contain technical, typographical or photographic errors.
    2. The Betway Summer Cup does not warrant that any of the materials on its website are accurate, complete or current.
    3. The Betway Summer Cup may make changes to the materials contained on its website at any time without notice.
    4. The Betway Summer Cup shall not be obliged, nor does it undertake to, update the materials.
    5. The Betway Summer Cup reserves the right to revise these terms of use for its website at any time without notice. By using this website, you agree to be bound by the current version of these Terms and Conditions.
    6. Any claim relating to The Betway Summer Cup’s website shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
  2. RESPONSIBLE GAMBLING
    1. 4Racing Proprietary Limited (alternatively, / trading as, “TAB”) is a licensed totalisator operator and supports responsible gambling.
    2. Betway is a licensed bookmaker and supports responsible gambling
    3. Gambling is only for persons 18 years and older.

For the overwhelming majority of people, gambling is harmless recreational fun. For most people, gambling (be it horseracing, playing the lottery, or at a casino) is a form of leisure and entertainment. People go to the races, or bet on sport events, knowing how much money they can afford to spend. They don’t spend more time than they can afford to on gambling either.

  1. PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY
    1. The Betway Summer Cup will be filmed and photographed for television and broadcast purposes. As such, a photograph or film may contain a captured photograph or footage of you.
    2. 4Racing and Betway acknowledge your right to privacy and protection of your personal information as per the Protection of Personal Information Act No. 4 of 2013, as amended.
    3. By purchasing a ticket and entering the property of 4Racing you confirm that you consent to photography and/or video footage of yourself being published for commercial and/or marketing purposes in or on any printed or social media platforms.
  2. ALTERATIONS MADE TO THE EVENT SCHEDULE
    1. 4Racing and Betway continually reviews its programme to ensure that it is providing high-quality and relevant events. Consequently, the programme content, as described in the event brochure or website, may change from time to time. 4Racing and Betway therefore, reserves the right to change or cancel any part of the published programme. You may be notified of any material changes in advance of the event taking place.
    2. The Betway Summer Cup events are scheduled to take place outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, 4Racing and Betway will endeavour to make appropriate, alternative arrangements. As a result, the schedule may change from that published.
    3. Should a named participant or host be unable to attend the event, 4 Racing and Betway endeavours to find a suitable replacement. 4Racing and/or Betway does not take responsibility for any non-attendance of any participant/s.
  3. DISABILITY

4Racing and Betway welcomes the participation of disabled guests at its events. 4Racing and Betway recognises that certain activities may present difficulties to those with disabilities. 4Racing and Betway therefore requests notification of any relevant challenge which a guest may experience at the time of ticket purchase, so that 4Racing may endeavour to satisfactorily meet the particular need. On request, 4Racing and Betway will provide information about various disabled facilities at a chosen venue.

  1.  DISCLAIMER
    1. Any person who enters the property of Turffontein Racecourse and the Betway Summer Cup event does so at their own risk.
    2. Campbell + Campbell, Turffontein Racecourse, 4Racing, the event sponsors, all associated persons, companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, and other partners and employees shall not be held liable or shall be responsible for any loss, theft, damage, destruction to property, injury or death, which may be suffered while on the property, regardless of the reason and cause of such incident. This disclaimer shall apply in all circumstances regardless of the manner in which the loss, damage, destruction to property, injury or death, occurs. On entering the event all attendees shall be personally responsible for all costs and/or risks associated with the event. To the fullest extent allowed by law, you agree to waive, discharge claims, release from all liability, and indemnify and hold harmless, Campbell + Campbell, Turffontein Racecourse, 4Racing, the event sponsors, all associated persons, companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, and other partners and employees from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from any loss, theft, damage, destruction to property, injury or death.
    3. A ticket/pass/entry/accreditation wristband has been issued with the sole purpose of providing relevant, specific and designated access to the holder of such ticket/pass/entry/accreditation wristband, to the Betway Summer Cup event and is issued subject to certain conditions. The holder assumes all risk associated with attending the Betway Summer Cup event and agrees to hold harmless Campbell + Campbell, Turffontein Racecourse, 4Racing, the event sponsors, all associated persons, companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, and other partners and employees resulting from his/her presence of the Betway Summer Cup event. The ticket/pass/entry/wristband is only valid for the duration of the date as indicated and only for such areas and access as indicated. The pass/ticket/entry/wristband must be available for inspection at all times. All tickets to The Betway Summer Cup are non-transferable or refundable and may be revoked at any time at the sole discretion of the event organisers and will be automatically terminated should any of these Terms and Conditions be breached.
  2. ALCOHOL AND FIREARMS 
    1. No alcohol will be sold to persons under the age of 18. No weapons will be allowed onto the property. 
  3. SPECIAL NOTICE

The Betway Summer Cup is an outdoor event which includes live entertainment, audio-visual displays, loud music and flashing lights.
